Mashbooh means a food or a drink that is doubtful.
If someone doesn’t know whether a food or a beverage is Halal or Haram, that food or beverage is doubtful.
They can have two or more origins of extraction, for example, the gelatin. It can have a swinish origin or can be extracted by vegetal, fish, etc... If it is swine, it’s haram. The others are halal.
A halal food or a halal product can become haram if an unauthorized ingredient is introduced, for example, ethanol as a solvent in the flavours, gelatin in lacteous food, etc....
In industrialized foods several ingredients are applied that have halal or haram origin. The status avaliation needs researches of every adictives and ingredients, defining its origin. .
