What's Haram Print E-mail

 

Haram is the same of unauthorized, forbidden, impure, illegal.Haram foods and beverages are totally forbidden by God.Eating Haram is forbidden to every muslim.

Surata 5, on the verse 3, prays:

 

"WE ARE SEALED THE CARRION, THE BLOOD, PORK MEAT AND ALL THAT HAS BEEN SACRIFICATED WITH THE INVOCATION OF A NAME OTHER THAN GOD.”

 

Forbidden animals

 

  • Pigs, dogs and fellows creatures;
  • Animals that have long teeth, such as tigers, elephants, monkeys, etc.;
  • Predator birds such as eagles, falcons, etc;
  • Putrid animals such as rats, centipedes, scorpions and fellow creatures;
  • Creatures that are considered repulsive such as flies, worms, snails, cockroaches, etc.;
  • Reptiles such as crocodiles, snakes, etc.;
  • Animals and birds that feed themselves with corpsesa.

 

Forbidden animals and derivates

 

  • Pork meat and its derivates, gelatins;
  • Fermentation cultures, queratina, etc.;
  • Animals that were not slaughtered in accordance to Halal norms or that died before slaughtering;
  • Slaughtered animals with the invocation of a name other than God;
  • No blood and its derivates;
  • Bovine gelatin from animals that were not slaughtered by the Islamic jurisdiction;
  • Industrialized foods which have ingredients manufactured with ethanol;
  • Alcoholic beverages;
  • Pigment (carmine coloured acid, cochineal);
  • Coagulum and ferment from animal origin which animal was not slaughtered in accordance with Islamic jurisdiction;
  • Brewing ferment;
  • L-Cetein from human hair;
  • L-Cetein from feathers of birds which were not salughtered in accordance with Islamic jurisdiction;
  • Flavours with alcohol (ethanol) and animal fat (suine) as a solvent or a transporter;
  • Milk serum derivated from milk products with animal coagulum;
  • Fermented soy sauce (wet and powder);
  • Biodegradated plastic packages that have suine gelatin.
